Card’s Corner #2

January 27, 2016

Hey Badger Fans!

I woke up to the beautiful snowfall this morning! I love the way it just sits on the trees when it is fresh. Both the men and women’s teams are coming off of a disappointing weekend at Minnesota. Both teams lost to the Golden Gophers, however, we did improve our scores from last year so that is a step in the right direction.

Even though we did not win overall, we had some amazing individual performances. The women’s team captured the top three spots in both the pole vault and the shot put. My fellow senior, and freshman roommate, Gabi Anzalone won both the mile and the 3,000 meter races. Losing the duel was tough but it was a very fast paced and exciting competition. It was wonderful seeing so many track and field fans in the stands supporting us.

The multiple event athletes are traveling to the University of Northern Iowa for their first competition in all of the events this season, however, for the rest of the team it is an off weekend. Zach Ziemk will be making his first appearance in a multi-event competition since his incredible journey to the World Championships this past August. Traveling all around the country always offers amazing experiences, but it is nice to have a bit of down time.

I know this week is a short entry because it is a down week, but I will have lots to talk about next week, because that is the week the team is traveling to the Big Apple, New York City!

Have a great week Badger Fans!

Kelsey
